What does a day in the life of Lauren look like?
Well, it’s hard to say! Sometimes I’m in the office all day writing blog posts and other days I’m playing with makeup and creating content. But waking up at 6 am, getting a workout in, doing my skincare routine, taking my dog for a walk and a little bit of self-care time are my daily non negotiables.
The best thing about beauty is?
I love that it has the ability to change my mood. Doing my skincare routine helps me wind down at the end of the day whereas a red lipstick makes me feel so sassy and sexy.
Your favourite thing about your job is?
I just love helping people. Whether I helped someone find their new favorite moisturizer or gave them a confidence boost, it just makes me so happy.
What has been the biggest ‘pinch yourself moment’ in your career to date?
I recently had someone from Kylie Jenner’s team reach out to me asking if they could send me some makeup and skincare products. I literally screamed when that email came through.
What is your favourite Bali Body product to use and why?
Oh, it’s 100% the face tan water! It gives the best color and is so easy to use. Plus it’s perfect if I just want to glow up my face and am too lazy to tan the rest of my body!
Tell us what your ultimate beach holiday beauty looks like?
Lots of bikinis, yachts, friends, margaritas, and a really nice tan.
What is your favourite place in the world and what makes it so special?
There is a small village in Finland called Saariselkä that is sort of in the middle of nowhere. They have the most amazing resort where you stay in these super cool glass igloos. Because it’s quite remote, the cell service is a bit spotty, which means you really have to put your phone down and be present! I had the most magical time, it’s truly a winter wonderland there and I’m dying to go back.
Your favourite motivational quote is?
“We don’t have to be smarter than the rest. We have to be more disciplined than the rest.” This always helps me on days where I’m feeling unmotivated. It’s about showing up, putting in the work, and making it happen even when I don’t feel like it.
What advice would you give to other aspiring bloggers, entrepreneurs, and creatives out there?
Quit planning and just start! It’s easy to get caught up in the planning stage thinking that everything has to be perfect before you begin. Your first product or blog post or whatever you create isn’t going to be perfect. But the thing is, it only goes up from there and you just have to start. A few years down the road you’ll probably look back and be a bit embarrassed which is totally fine and just part of the process. My first few blog posts are actually horrible but it’s so cool to see how far I’ve come.
What does a ‘treat yourself’ moment look like to you?
I love a good spa day, a bottle of wine, or a nice chocolate bar. Ideally, I’m able to enjoy all of those things at once!
