She gets plenty of sleep

Sleep plays such a huge role in our physical and mental health. It not only helps with the healing of our vital internal organs but it aids with concentration, productivity and learning. Did you know that poor sleep has even been strongly linked to weight gain? I don’t know about you, but we will certainly be making more of an effort to get some extra shut eye in our lives.

She knows that balance is key

While working out and eating right is important, a healthy mindset is where it all starts. If you have a healthy attitude about yourself, your body and your goals, you’re already a winner. When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, slow and steady wins the race. There is no point going on a no-carb, no-sugar, no-anything diet if you’re only going to stick it out for a few days. Balance really is key. Find a healthy balance between eating your greens while treating yourself to your favourite foods at the same time. Over time, your healthy choices will turn into habits and you won’t ever remember a time when you weren't a #fitgirl.

She doesn't compare herself to others

A fit girl knows that comparison is the thief of joy. Social media can end up being a sad place when you’re constantly comparing your reality to everyone else's highlight reel. If you’re having a bad day, avoid the gram and go for a walk in the fresh air instead. If you’d prefer to stay cosied up inside, read your favourite book or write in your journal and remember why you’re amazing, beautiful and good enough, just the way you are.

Starts her day with a routine

Starting your day with a good routine is the best way to set yourself up for success. Making your bed, going for a walk, doing a quick meditation and even putting your favourite BB Cream are all perfect examples. Having a healthy breakfast is also important for restoring glucose levels in the body and lowering your stress hormones. If you’re a babe who really struggles to stomach a meal first thing, start with a delicious smoothie or celery juice instead.
