5 minutes with our new SPF 50 range

No FAQ left unturned
5 minutes with our new SPF 50 range

We have always endeavoured to formulate innovative and cutting edge products for the global market and our new SPF 50+ range is no different.

With bespoke packaging, colours, typography and formulations, our new SPF 50+ range is designed to send waves through the somewhat uniform existing sunscreen market.

Read on to dissect each product in the new range, and to find out everything you want and need to know.

Do these products have fragrance?
No! All three products are completely fragrance free.

Are these sunscreens hydrating or will they dry out my skin?
Yes! All three products have incredibly hydrating properties and are also lightweight when applied topically to the skin’s surface.

What spectrum of protection do these products provide?
All three products in this new range provide broad spectrum UVA & UVB protection. They are also all rated at SPF 50+, protecting the skin from 98% of UVB rays.

What nourishing ingredients do these products contain?
Like the majority of our suncare oils and self tanners, all three of these SPF products contain vitamin E. Vitamin E has been proven as an anti-inflammatory agent in the skin, as various studies have supported its prevention of inflammatory damage after UV exposure.

Any other key ingredients used in these products?
We have included glycerin in both our Hydrating Face Sunscreen and our Aerosol Face and Body Spray. Glycerin is classed as both a humectant and an emollient. A humectant is a substance that allows the skin to retain moisture, whilst an emollient is a substance that aids in softening the skin.

Aloe Vera has also been included as a key ingredient in our Hydrating Body Sunscreen. Besides its well-known quality of being able to soothe sunburn, it has also been proven to help fade dark spots and moisturise the skin’s surface. Incredibly soothing and lightweight, aloe vera was the perfect natural derivative to include in our body sunscreen.

Are these products suitable for everyday use?
Yes! All three products in this range are suitable for daily use and are encouraged to be applied throughout the day as needed. They are also suitable for all skin types.

Are these products water resistant?
Yes! These products are water resistant for up to 80 minutes

How often do I need to reapply these products?
It does depend on what you are doing and what you are externally exposed to, however we recommend that these products are reapplied every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating to ensure that you are being fully protected.

Is SPF 50+ really that important?
You know what we’re going to say here. SPF 50+ filters 98% of UVB rays. Although sunscreen is recommended to be applied when the UV index is 3 or above, we still recommend applying topically daily - especially a facial sunscreen as the skin’s surface is incredibly sensitive here.

Do your products protect against both UVB and UVA?
Yes! All 3 products have been formulated to protect against both UVB and UVA.

What is the difference between UVB and UVA?
The easiest way to remember this bad boy is the final letter in this acronym, B & A. UVB stands for ‘burning’ and is responsible for skin reddening and sunburn. This is when damage penetrates the epidermis (top layer) of the skin.

UVA stands for ‘aging’ and is responsible for premature skin aging, wrinkles and DNA damage. This is when sun damage penetrates the dermis of the skin (40x more deeper than UVB).

Standard sunscreens are greasy to the touch. Will these sunscreens make my complexion or skin oily or greasy?
No! These products have been formulated to leave a non greasy and matte finish to the skin. This can allow you to apply and go, with all products being touch dry after a period of time.

Does the facial sunscreen leave a white cast?
No it won’t. Our face sunscreen has a clear formula that matches and compliments any skin tone and complexion.

Can I use these products in conjunction with your other products?
Yes of course! In fact, we encourage you to. We would recommend pairing our Hydrating Facial Sunscreen with any one of our cosmetic facial products or self tanners, such as our Gradual Face Tan, Bronzing Serum or BB Cream.

Another great duo would be our suncare tanning oils in conjunction with our Body SPF50+ range! Even though the majority of our oils already contain a level of SPF protection, it is vital to ensure that when you are exposed to UVB and UVA you are being mindful and appropriately protected.

How to combat dry and dehydrated skin

How to combat dry and dehydrated skin

We’ve all been there. Neglecting our skin is unfortunately a sin most of us commit on a regular basis. And let’s face it, there really is no nicer feeling than slipping into clean sheets with silky smooth skin to compliment. It’s the simple things in life that really go the extra mile. So we’re here to teach you the easiest and fastest way to give your skin a little TLC, in under 2 minutes. Step 1: Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate The most simple, yet the most neglected part of any skin care regimen. Long gone are the days of harsh scrubbing applicators and routines, feeling like our skin is going red raw with the pressure.  If you’re using a 100% natural DHA self-tanner, then the self-tan only sits on the first layer of your skin, your epidermis. Synthetic or chemical DHA-based tans actually seep into the lower levels of your skin, making it much more difficult to remove.  In essence, we always recommend that you opt for a 100% natural DHA self-tanner. Not only to add ease to the post tanning removal process, but to also support a healthy relationship with your skin and it’s overall health. To exfoliate, we recommend using a light to medium pressurised, natural body scrub that also harbours benefits for the skin. Our Essentials Body Scrub is an all-natural formulation that gently but effectively exfoliates the skin while replenishing moisture. Pink french clay and nourishing plant based oils work together to promote skin elasticity and renewal. Infused with a blend of grape seed oil and rosa damascena flower oil, this combination is designed to provide antibacterial properties, minimising the occurrence of body acne and other skin concerns. Step 2: Stay hydrated We know that sometimes getting your 2L of H2O every day can be more of a laborious chore, rather than a self care act. Keeping your skin hydrated should be no less of a priority than the latter.  There are generally 3 ways you can go about this: 1 - Mid-wash hydration This is usually when you use an in-shower or oil-based product whilst you wash. Our in-shower body oil is a great product for this method of combating skin hydration. Enriched with soothing ingredients such as chamomile and coconut oil, the formulation of our Shower Oil has been designed to soften the skin's surface and help control skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Our in-shower body oil also includes nourishing plant-based oils such as grapeseed oil, which aims to provide intense hydration to the skin.  To use, apply generously to wet or damp skin in the shower. Following this, massage all over your body and focus on any dry areas or where the skin is cracked and neglected (elbows, knee caps etc). Lastly, rinse off in the shower and you’re good to go!  A product like that is perfect for daily use and complimentary for all skin types and skin aversions, including sensitised skin. 2 - Post-wash hydration The second and probably most obvious skin hydration tip is to moisturise daily. We recommend using a 3-in-1 product, like our Gradual Tan Moisturiser. Using 100% natural DHA and other natural ingredients and oils, our Gradual Tan can be used as a daily moisturiser, a tan extender or a gradual tan. 3 - General product mindfulness As explored above, the importance of choosing to use products that contain natural ingredients and oils is extremely important - especially when you are applying it topically all over your body's largest organ. Always be sure to educate yourself regarding what is actually in a product and favour ingredient-focused formulations. Also, try to get in the habit of electing to seek out products that are sustainable in their packaging and their ethos. Our new Essentials range has been designed using 100% recyclable materials and is safe for all skin types and pregnancy.
